I am currently working on a novel with the working title of Under the Midnight Sun. It is the story of an archaelogist/historian, Bailey McPherson, who is obsessed with the legend of an ancient Goth woman named Jodis. While attempting to find out whether Jodis did exist, she finds herself mysteriously transported back in time to the first century AD, landing in Jodis' village. As Bailey becomes more and more embroiled in the fight for daily survival among the villagers, she finds herself falling in love with Jodis, even against all common sense. For Bailey knows something that could tear out her heart: the legend of Jodis is a tragic one. Can Bailey resist her growing passions to save herself the pain? Can she somehow save Jodis without destroying history? Can she even survive herself in a time when no one trusts an outsider and a war of survival wages among the Goths? The journey may be long and hard, but eventually, all will be answered...under the midnight sun.

Read a short excerpt from a very rough draft.
